Award-winning essayist and screenwriter

David Boop is a best-selling Denver-based speculative fiction author. In addition to his novels, short stories and children’s books, he’s also an award-winning essayist and screenwriter. His novel, the sci-fi/noir She Murdered Me with Science, debuted in 2008. Since then, David has had over fifty short stories published and two-short films produced. He specializes in weird westerns, but has been published in many genres including media tie-ins for Veronica Mars, the Green Hornet and the Abnorm Chronicles. 2013 saw the digital release of his first steampunk children’s book, The Three Inventors Sneebury. David tours the country speaking on writing and publishing at schools, libraries and conventions.

Additionally, David is an award-winning journalist, having covered events such as Columbine. He’s done music, film and political interviews for television, newspapers, radio and the internet. Dave loves interviewing celebrities in front of a live audience. He’s grilled James Marsters (Buffy,) moderated the Tron 30th anniversary tour and, you’ll see him on Wil Wheaton’s anti-bullying viral video.
