StarFest offers an environment free of harassment for all convention attendees. This is a place where everyone plays together in a spirit of mutual trust and respect.
Harassment is a form of discrimination that is offensive, impairs morale, undermines the integrity of relationships and causes harm to everyone.

All convention attendees have the right to be in an environment free from discrimination and harassing conduct, including sexual harassment. Harassment on the basis of race, color, creed, ancestry, national origin, disability, marital status or sexual orientation are not what we are about. Harassment is persistent and unwelcome conduct or actions on any of the bases mentioned above. Harassment can be subtle, manipulative and is not always evident. It does not refer to occasional compliments of a socially acceptable nature. It refers to behavior that is not welcome and is personally offensive. All forms of gender harassment are covered.

VERBAL HARASSMENT: Insult jokes innuendos, degrading sexual remarks, referring to someone as a stud, hunk or babe; whistling; cat calls; comments on a person’s body or sex life, or pressures for sexual favors are not acceptable.

Non Verbal Harassment: Gestures, staring, touching, hugging, patting, blocking a person’s movement, standing too close, brushing against a person’s body are not acceptable.

Complaints of harassment will be taken seriously and appropriate action, up to and including, being expelled from the event without a refund, may be taken.

If you are being harassed, notice that someone else is being harassed, or have any other concerns, please contact a StarFest Staff member. Complaints of harassment will be thoroughly, promptly, and objectively investigated. StarFest Staff member may request statements from individuals involved, ask for witnesses, or take any other steps necessary to complete a thorough investigation before taking appropriate action.

All StarFest staff can help participants contact security as well as the Off Duty Police Officers we have at the Convention. We value your attendance and are dedicated to creating a safe and secure convention for everyone.
